01 ·Context
Where the project came from
Vora is a Colombian swimwear brand with a physical store in Floridablanca, Santander. Before this platform, in-store and online sales lived in separate systems, with no shared inventory and no real-time way to know how much stock was left of each size and color.
This project is mine end to end: I'm the founder and the developer. I designed the visual identity, the shopping experience, and built the whole platform — store, admin panel and point of sale — from scratch.
02 ·Challenge
What had to be solved
The challenge wasn't just building an online store, but a system that unified in-store and online sales without duplicating work: one inventory, one catalog, and reports that add up both operations.
Constraint
A single developer covering design, backend, frontend and SEO.
Constraint
Real-time shared inventory between the physical store and the online store, including size and color variants.
Constraint
Meeting solid technical SEO practices from day one, without relying on plugins or an external CMS.
03 ·Solution
What I built, and why that way
I built a Laravel + React (Inertia) monolith, with the catalog, checkout, admin panel and point of sale sharing the same database and inventory. That's what makes a counter sale and an online sale draw from the same stock, with no syncing or background jobs involved.
- Point of sale with cash register, mixed payments, cost and margin tracking, and refunds.
- Full server-side technical SEO: metadata, Open Graph, structured product data (shipping and returns included) and a sitemap — because social crawlers don't run JavaScript.
- A WordPress-style content panel so someone with no technical background can manage the catalog, the blog and the homepage slider.
- Thermal receipt printing and WhatsApp orders built into the sales flow.
04 ·Result
What changed afterwards
The platform is still under active development: it already covers the online store, admin panel, point of sale and shared inventory. So far, it's the project where I've had the most control over the final result, from the brand to the code.
